What is DarkRoost
You are a lone colonist stranded on an unknown planet. A full day here lasts mere minutes: the short daytime goes into mining wood and stone and building defenses, and at sunset enormous birds sweep in from beyond the horizon to tear your structures apart. DarkRoost blends Minecraft-style building freedom, Tower Defense tactics and the rush of an arcade first-person shooter into one short, tense “build → survive” loop.
Gather and build
Mine wood and stone, raise walls, platforms and turret towers. Free-form building in every plane.
First-person turret action
At night take the gun yourself: aim, fire, watch the heat, reposition. Several turret types with upgrades.
Time is the real resource
Days are short. Every second is a choice between mining, building and repairs. One day+night cycle ≈ 5 minutes.
Escalating waves
Screechers, raiders, behemoths and ground creatures from the sea. Difficulty climbs wave after wave.
Three-island campaign
A journey from a peaceful green island toward the source of the dark. Island-hopping, new biomes and enemies.
Final boss
Reach the Source Tower on the third island and face its guardian — the Iron Dragon.
Game loop
A constant rhythm of “prepare → defend → breathe”. Every dawn has to be earned.

- Run the world and gather wood and stone

- Repair and upgrade your defenses
- Brace for sunset — a few seconds of warning
🌙 Night
- Birds spawn beyond the horizon
- Jump into a turret and shoot the wave in first person
- Enemies smash structures and attack you
- Survive the night timer or wipe out the whole wave
